The Big Pot – 3 Gun Shoot (11/11/2023)

Allan Peeters

OK not a big turnout I think 8 shooters, we started at 10 as indicated.

The last one for this year,

It was a great day for shooting a bit hot but then it is November, the beer in the clubhouse after shooting was great, Anso is also supplying footlong hot dogs after the shoot is that is verry lekker.

As stated, the last one for the year, we had a new shooter Roman Pannis joined us he seemed to enjoy it for the first time he has shot this event. I loaned him my shotgun, he did not do too badly for a first time, only afterwards did I do a gun fit exercise on him. This should have done before he started shooting. He needed a lower stock, I’m Shure he would have done better with another gun. So, you learn, my mistake. One gun does not fit all.

Markus did he scoring and apparently, I won, but we will be posting all the results as John verifies that on the computer after feeding in the data.

This was also the last shotgun champs for the year, so we decided to include a round of sporting to have three sporting shoots for the year.

Clive set up the sporting shoot on the skeet range it was a nice shot the skeet high and low towers been the difficult targets but luckily, they were on report. There were no sim doubles which makes it a bit faster. But a nice shoot. Thanks Clive.

There was a bit of confusion about clockwise direction. The shoot was, “starting at machine 1 and moving in a clockwise direction to machine 5”. But I think maybe we are used to digital watches, but we finally got that sorted around the bar after a few beers. We have a new groundsman Saul, John will be working with him for a while, and next year we might start him on a probational few months, he seems very willing but as you know “new brooms”.
