After the cancellation of the June shoot (for hunting purposes) most of the regulars turned out for the third shoot of the year. John was still away visiting the kids, but it was nice seeing Dawie and Berdi on the open sight range again. Due to the cold wind that was blowing the scores were below average, but it was still a great day of solving all South Africa’s problems in between the shooting. A hot topic of discussion was Reg’s new gadget, a suction cup rifle rest that can be mounted on the roof of a bakkie or in this case the bonnet. It proved a very stable shooting platform.
If you have an open sight rifle and 15 bullets at home come join us again on 21 October at 10h00 for our last shoot of the year. The format allows for shooting at 5 animal print targets with two shots per target from 100 meters (shooting position vary per target) and one shot per target from 50 meters (headshot from standing position). Any open sight rifle larger than .22 caliber is allowed.
