Results – Old Man’s Shoot #2

Allan Peeters

As last time, we struggled with the tablets, luckily Jacques Potgieter was there to set it up properly, I think. But it worked.

It can only do fast and furious shoots, not standards and only 24 shots, and it does not understand no penalty drop shots. So, standards had to be re-configured. Would be nice if we can figure out how to set it up, makes life much easier. Results are quick.

All in all, I think it went off well. We had 18 shooters. I think everyone enjoyed the different type of shoot. They were all straight forward and unusual, lots of moving targets and been driven around shooting. Not the type of IPSC shoot they are used to. Zig zag barricades in the way. Fast furious balls to the wall shooting.

Here most shoots were fixed time, giving the old guy’s time to shoot. The standards my favorite, where you actually have to aim and use your sights. Here I had to bring in a strong hand unsupported…he he

The bakkie shoot was lekker, see video.

Then we had one speed shoot for the speed freaks… the guillotine shoot. They said it was too fast. Can’t win. BUT I WILL FIX IT NEXT TIME SO THAT IT WORKS PROPERLY.

The runner was lots of aiming and shooting working out the lead. Here PD did well, not sure how he finished but at the first two stages he was 2 points down after 24 shots. Then we shot 12 shots at the runner from 25m quite far out, but enough time.

OK the youngsters came first but they don’t count. The top three:

  1. Johann Seyffert
  2. Jacques Potgieter
  3. PD Pretorius
