Results – 3 Gun #4 (8/7/2023)

Allan Peeters

OK not a big turnout I think 12 shooters, we started at 12 as indicated.

The .22.  an easy shoot 5 Piggies at 40m and 5 Rams at 75m nice big fat silhouettes then targets Jackals at 25m oom Bobbejan at 35m and Pig at 55m. 5 shots on each. 25 rounds required.

Handgun 9mm and up, must have a holster to shoot this shoot. Lots of time to shoot in. standards type of shoot. 25 rounds required.

Shotgun is normally trap, you can shoot 2 shots, scoring 5 for first shot and 2 points for second.

This is a fun shoot, ok there is a 3-gun winner trophy at the end of the year, your best 3 scores of all the 3-gun shoots there should be 10 of them shot during the year.

The .22 shoot allows for the juniors to shoot over a rest instead of out of the shoulder. And of course, some of us have disabilities which makes holding the rifle difficult, they are also allowed to use a rest, at organisers discretion. Babbelaas does not count. You will notice their .22 scores have an * next to their score.

There is also another category the two-gun event, for those that don’t shoot all 3 events.

What a surprise for us this month July.

The winner of the day was Mark Reeder, I think this is his first 3 gun shoot he has shot, well done that man.

Was not as cold as expected, a bit windy but not too bad.

The .22 was win by a junior shooter Joshua using a rest.

The handgun was win by Mark Reeder

The shotgun was rather difficult with the wind lifting the clays quite considerably, but not consistently, which made it challenging. Here Mark and Allan tied for first place.
