Results – Shotgun (12/3/2022)

PD Pretorius

A long day awaited us as we had the 3 Gun event running along side the Shotgun event. Most shooters started with the “pew pew” at 11h00 on the .22 range for the 3 Gun event. Some of the other Shotgun competitors pitched up a bit later to join us on the Sporting/Compak range. Eventually when the riffle and handgun was done, we were at the Sporting/Compak range to start breaking clays.

Uncle Allan got his new toy… a new camo arm! Man, he is really excited to try this new gadget out at breaking some clays. At first, he had to get used to the new support and after a few adjustments the clays were breaking one after the other. I think we are going to see the results on the Skeet and Trap disciplines more as this setup is made for it. Watch out boys & girls the new kid is in town! (Uncle Allan is very impressed with his prosthetist, sh!t difficult to pronounce for us boertjies but we got it eventually, sounds just like prost!tute 😐).

Sporting/Compak

Okay so Uncle Allan and I decided a small easy Compak range would be a good trial run for the Sporting 100 event next Saturday. Small maybe… easy… ummmmm… no not that easy! Hen and Chick were released to run free for many!!! This was also our first Sporting competition in which members could compete. We had 12 competitors for this event with scores, yes scores as it was not the best scores out there…

Sean took 1st place with a 19, second place went to Theo with a 17, and 3rd we had a tie between Dave & PD with a 16. Third went to Dave on the countback. Clive tied with Uncle Allan with a score of 15, not bad at all for “Man van Staal” and “Mr Night Owl”!!!

Congratulation guys!

Skeet

Unfortunately, Uncle Allan had to attend a meeting and could not join our mere few that participated in the Skeet event. Only 4 shooters! So, the worst you could have done is 4th place, well done Oom Tom! Oom Tom forgot to change his humpback’s barrel and shot skeet with his Trap setup. Ai oom Tom…

Sean took 1st place again with a respectable 23 and then it was Theo and PD at it again. Both shot a nice 22 but with the countback PD got 2nd place (het jou Theodorus 😊). 3rd for Theo. Lekker shooting with nice people!

ATA Trap

We had only six shooters for Trap, a bit disappointing if you ask me but still a lot of fun. Two squads of three competing for the club champs. First was Anso, Clive and Oom Tom, all struggled a bit to see the going away clays. Anso gave the men a good go, but Clive struggled shooting with slugs at the clays (hope you learned your lesson Meneer Nag Uiltjie 😊). Theo, Sean, and PD was up next giving each other good competition, up to the last clay. But jaaaaaa Theo het my die keer… alweer!!! Well done to all shooters competing.

Theo took first place with a 23, PD 2nd place with 22, and Sean with his new contacts a nice round 20!

Nice to see some new faces on the Shotgun range…
