Allan Peeters & PD Pretorius

WELL, WE HAD THREE SHOTGUN CHAMP SHOOTS THIS WEEKEND!

Shoots were hotly contested or coldly as the weather was cool, but luckily no rain. The shotgun club champs were well attended with some old faces making an appearance at our shotgun ranges. We had 14 shooters, very nice! We had some families attending and it warms my heart to see all involved, husband, wife, kids, and some toddlers. Teach them young for the love of the sport… 😊

ATA Trap

We had ATA Trap 25 which was shot, but the voodoo is still around and the scores are not too great. Will definitely have to speak to Donald about getting a Sangoma around.

One for the books Marcus shot the shotgun champs from a chair using 21 grain ammo, he managed his PB (personal best), a 4. So now he has a benchmark to go for. Give it hell Marcus and improve on 4.

Top score was a 23, shot by PD that gave him the mug of the month award for trap. Second place went to Marco and Dylan took the last spot for the top 3.

Skeet

Skeet was hotly contested, Sean and Anthony tied on a 24. So, we had a shoot off for first place. It was duck station high house. Start on the pad and shoot. If no one missed, 2 steps closer to high house, repeat. If still tie, 2 steps closer, and so until one misses. Congratulations Anthony. Mug of the month goes to you, winning the shoot off. Obviously 2nd place went to Sean and the 3rd spot went to Dylan again, seems that he like that spot.

Sporting/English Doubles

English doubles were fun, we had 3 sets of the same double targets shot from 4 pads. Giving us a total of 24, then one sneaky Battue to round off to 25 targets. It was lots of fun especially trying to shoot the pair of clays with one shot. This is a nice way to learn to shoot as you repeat the pair 3 times, till you get it right… or in some cases get it wrong, trying to get 6 out of 6!

The monthly mug here goes to Anthony with a score of 21, 2nd place went to Marco and 3rd spot we have Sean… sorry Dylan spot taken… 😊

Uncle Allan did not have a great day, suddenly his well behaved Perazzi would not play with, and did not fire the second shot, can’t imagine why. Unpredictable b!tch (that is what he calls her if she misbehaves). So, she will have to make a draai by the gunsmith. It’s not lekker when your equipment fails and the disappointment could be seen on oom Allan’s face, sorry uncle next time you shoot those clays mo@r toe!
