Wolwehoek hosted the 2nd Mini Mach for 2023 from 13 to 15 July 20, 2023. We had 28 entries who entered 143 events each consisting or 5 sighter shots and 20 shots to count, that means that a total of 3573 shots were fired over the 3 days. We had some competitors from Bloemfontein and some from Pretoria, but most support came from Wolwehoek club.
The most shot events were of cause were .22 scoped rifle light and silhouette, and to open sight .22 events, the air rifle was also very popular, whilst only Johann Valentin shot big bore handgun revolver, production and unlimited.
We did quite a lot of work on the ranges to get them ready for the competition, this included new rails at the varmint rifle/handgun and lifting the back stops respectively. For this we brought in a big FEL to move the soil (we also moved a lot of soil at the practical handgun ranges to extend and lift the dirt berms).
We also redid the .22 range back stops and lifted the turkey rails at 77m to allow me to build up the back stops at the 40m pigs on the .22 range.
