PD Pretorius
The Long Rifle Impala Shoot was well attended on the 19th of February 2022. We had 14 shooters for the day, and it was a lot of fun. It’s nice to see some new and old faces on the range, including a few ladies that competed alongside some of the old folk of the long gun competition. This shoot is actually a nice day out to spend with family and friends.
Oom Booyens had a slow start, he was setup and ready to go… then he recalled that he needs his little black book. Got the book or should I say his cheat sheet because he gave us all some lessons in marksmanship! Well done oom Booyens for that first place and a score of 90 out of 100. Second place went to Markus with a score of 75, good shooting. Fanie took 3rd place with a close 70.
Seems that we have a shooter that only observes most of the time and when she starts shooting, she is kicking our butts! Well done Ronel with that score of 55 tying the 6th place with oom Tom.
The shoot simulates hunting for each specific animal, and it is good preparation for the hunting season. Hope to see you at the next shoot.
