Man, I had mixed feelings for this event… ☹ Dr Frikkie Rademan, Anje, and Frederik joined our club a while ago and became part of the family. We shot the Saturday before and Frikkie shot some respectful scores in ATA Trap and Skeet. Frikkie called me to his car and said, “Kyk bietjie hier”. He showed me a handmade knife, man what a piece of art. Frikkie made it and was very proud of it as he should be. Never did we thought that would be the last time to have him with us. It was a privilege to have known him and that we could spend some time with him and his family.
Wolwehoek Shooting Club is saddened by his passing, and we are all here for you Anje and Frederik. We send our sincere condolences to Frikkie’s family and friends.
We had 3 ranges for the monthly Shotgun Championship but only managed to complete two of them, ATA Trap and Skeet. The English Doubles range looked tasty, but the day’s events caught up to us. 3 Gun competition kept some of the Shotgunners busy and they only got to the Trap range after 14h00. Here Mr. Peeters shot his first Straight with his new arm and all of us could not contain ourselves to congratulate him. Well done Uncle Allan for this great achievement and to show us a great life lesson!

Uncle Allan is a prime example of this quote and surely is conquering what was dealt to him!
After the ATA Trap a few of us went to the Skeet range. Oh boy here we all had a fright of our life with Matty throwing a spanner in the works! He fainted twice and we all were very concerned with his health. He seems to be fine now, hope to see you soon on the range again! The scores at the skeet range was not that respectful and understandable after we all were a bit rattled but Mr Clive Spencer actually shot a very nice score of 20 placing him second, well done Clive!
After the Skeet event we decided to call it a day as we still had to attend the Special General meeting to elect a new Chairman. A new Chairman was elected… and it’s me! Will do my best and thank you for the trust you placed in me.
