I would like to say that I am Honored to be elected as chairman of Wolwehoek Shooting Club. I will do my best to serve the club and promote a family friendly Shooting Club where all family members are welcome in a safe environment to enjoy the sport, we all love.
I do not think anybody will disagree that Wolwehoek Shooting Club is like a family. A Shooting Club with attributes like this are few and far between. So, we need to work together to safeguard this club so we may enjoy all the benefits that the club has to offer us as members.
The work done behind the scenes is what counts and what keeps this ship afloat! Only a mere few members are really working hard to make it possible for you to enjoy your sport each weekend. They do it because they love the sport and the club, and are not paid for their services by the way! Appreciate them with a kind word like thank you or by making their job a little bit easier being considered in what they do for you and the club.
Safety at the club is my number one concern and we all as members must address any unsafe action or event that is seen on the spot! No two ways about it that we can just let it go! Please inform that member or person on the spot if he/she is unsafe as it is all of us responsibility to keep all in check. We do not have a second chance if a mistake has been made!
Lastly, I want to address the RO Duty because this goes hand in hand with the safety objective. We have enough members, so you only have to do one RO Duty during the year. This will alleviate the burden on already over worked committee members as they will always take over RO Duty if no one pitch! This is unfair and I will be ashamed if I am a Wolwehoek member who just reap the benefits of the club but do not want to give 5 hours of their day for the club. I will address the RO Duty problem and a solution will be found! If, however there is no RO on Duty for the day the club will be closed for that day as we cannot conduct business in an unsafe and unprofessional manner. So, I ask you humbly to please make an effort to accept your duties as a Wolwehoek Club member.
