Saturday 1 March was the first field target competition for 2025. As such it presented us with the opportunity to change things a bit from last year. The shoot was changed to include Bisley type targets at 20m, a dassie at 30m, the warthog 50m, small bore rifle standard chickens and pigs at 60m and 77m respectively with the duiker at 100m. Six shots per distance; best 5 to count, i.e. you had one “siter” shot at each distance or 6 shots to nock down 5 silhouettes. You could shoot off of any support that you could carry with you, except a table; most of us shot sitting over tripods.
