Results – Shotgun 100 #1 part 2 (13/04/2024)

WOLWEHOEK 100 COMPETITION APRIL.

Well, not such a good turnout, started with 6 shooters, got rained out last week. Continued with 5 shooters this weekend. one squad. Not so good.

Shooting conditions improved in the morning but we said starting time was12 o clock, hoping for more shooters. But then it got worse. We started at 12 o clock. Bad decision. Anyway, it was the same for all.

Started on sporting. Had set up an easy range. There was one difficult target a climbing crosser, and of course the hen and chick. Everyone seemed to enjoy it, John especially as he was the top gun there.

Off to skeet. Ok not everyone likes skeet the more difficult shoot. There was a jinks on stand 4. No one hit anything 10 clays between us not one!! Needless to say, our skeet scores were horrendous. Allan was the top gun there.

Then trap doubles. Here was fun, pity the conditions were crap by this time, between keeping the cows at bay and machine not cooperating, and Tom’s semi auto refused to semi auto, no fun in shooting trap doubles with single shots. Anyway, after some spookpiss it started firing on all cylinders. Lubrication Tom lubrication, everything works better with lubrication. Clive was a bit up and down into the trap house we managed to Finnish. Allan top gun with Ansu hot on his heels. One point is one point.

Prizegiving was not a raucous affair, not many shooters were there. Our winners were everyone. See pic. And Ansu’s results.

It seems the consensus that shotgun is expensive, that is true. Other shooting disciplines the targets, be it paper or plates they are supplied. But clays you must pay for the targets. Even though we are the cheapest club around.
