The Big Pot – Shotgun 100!

Allan Peeters

The first 100 comp this year started slowly, firstly no one bothered responding to Clive’s WhatsApp of who was going to shoot the 100. Except ME. So, I thought fucccit. I decided to send a WhatsApp on Thursday, saying I’m not going to drive to the farm if its only me and Clive shooting. Slowly we began to get a response. Bl!ks@m ons moet darrem julle d@nnerse gate lek.

Ok we wound up with 12 shooters at the end of the day. Was great.

Clive and Anso organized boerie roles for after the shoot, which was much appreciated after the long days shooting, always goes down lekker with a beer.

The light rain stopped shooting for about half an hour then on we went.

Started trap 25 with two full squads. Here John R.J. surprised us all, and himself, by shooting a 22 well done!!

Then sporting 25 with two squads and then Anthony and Dylan pitched up late. But we went out of our way to accommodate them. Theo and Christo were kind enough to go score for them on the trap.

The sporting was a bit more challenging than normal; We had a Minnie and a Batue. And the usual hen and chick. But it was lekker. By this time Anthony and Dylan caught up to us Dylan showed us that our sporting range was not so difficult and proceeded to shoot a straight.

Off to 25 Skeet here Sean shot a straight. Normal skeet round no other surprises.

Then the last 25 was supposed to be ball trap, but it wound up the snakes in the grass again. But it was a lot of fun and Christo was a snake shooting champion, I think 80% if his clays were snakes, just as well because he could not hit the occasional highflyers. Gold and silver went to Dylan and Anthony, but they did not stay for the prize giving, the two boxes of ammo were won by Christo who tied with Allan, but Christo won on countback.
