The Big Pot – 22, Banter, & Sun!

Allan Peeters

What a friggin awesome day of shooting. The weather was great sunny hot and no wind.

This Saturday was the .22 shooting. Thanks John it was great, pity the runner’s gearbox packed while we were shooting. One of those things.

So off to the afdak for the rest of the events.

The scoped rifle with fat silhouettes, shot out of the shoulder, nice and big especially if you are used to the normal ones. It makes it fun and easier, which is nice.

Then the field scoped shoot. A Springbok target at 25m a Warthog at about 60m some nice fat piggies at 50m and then, Duiker target at 100m 3 body shots and 2 head shots. This was done using mik sticks, and some shooting, sitting with mik sticks.

Then open sight rifle, this was nice big silhouettes, out to 100m. at least they looked big, till you closed one eye and looks over the sights. But easily shootable.

Lastly was the pistol shoot big silhouettes out to 50 meters, the usual chicken, pig, turkey, ram combination. Nice fat ones.

Was a long day’s shooting, then off to the bar for some refreshments.

Here the usual banter started. We got all the results thanks to John’s scorekeeping. He will post them soon. Our job was to sort out all the country’s problems, from Eskom to Ramaposa to the Man with the hat. This of course led to more drinking.

Then America’s Joe Biden, it was discussed, and we came to the conclusion  that the average American have a verry low IQ. Look at who they voted in as president. But then we looked at who we have got. This led of course to more drinking.

We even touched on the usual phenomenon of the earth’s magnetism and magnetic field.  Our Darwin award winners, and other interesting stuff.

ALL IN ALL, A GREAT DAY.
